When will translation finish?
"Looking beyond Vision 2025," John Watters, the Executive Director of Wycliffe International speculated whilst reporting to the Wycliffe International Board in May 2006, "that if, by God’s grace, work were started by 2025 for every language needing a translation, initial translation work would continue until perhaps 2050.
"After that, ongoing need for capacity building and revision would continue long after our lifetimes."
John also noted that in recent years, 60% of new projects started have been in the 3 regions of the world with the
greatest remaining need.
In the last six months, 16 New Testaments, 3 New Testaments on cassette, and 3 Bibles have been published.
