2008 Wycliffe Transform Teams now closed
Both 2008 teams are now closed and the orientation weekend starts Friday 18 April at Horsleys Green. Prayer topics for Mali and Cameroon teams will appear soon.
July Team to Mali TEAM FULL
In the south of the country the team will help a local radio drama team plan an evangelism event in a village area. Then they will spend some time in the capital Bamako, getting involved with children's ministy. Lastly the team will move west to assist a Wycliffe translation team.
August Team to Cameroon TEAM FULL
This is a fantastic opportunity to further develop a strong continuing link between Transform and the Ndop cluster project. The team will assist a literacy project, working alongside local Cameroonians to develop the first reading books in several local languages. They will also have lots of opportunities to engage with the local church and community.
Applications for 2008 teams closed on 31 March.
Read all about Wycliffe Transform Teams and you might catch the vision for 2009. Details will appear later in the year. Our teams will have a new name for 2009, so look out for it soon!

The July team to Burkina Faso had a great time using puppets to encourage the use of translated Scriptures, and helping with language survey research. See how
their trip went here.
The August team to NW Cameroon produced the first written materials in the Bamunka language. See how
their trip went here.
"It was fantastic..!"
“It was a fantastic trip in which God taught me that I am far more adaptable than I even thought I could be, that there is an urgent need for Bible translation, that it pays to be patient in new situations and the only way to live is to be fully reliant on Him.” Zoe
‘The Transform programme has drawn me closer to God and given me fresh confidence in who I am in Him.’ Georgie
‘It was fantastic experiencing living in a Malian village.’
Aaron
‘I am mentally and physically more adaptable than I thought.’ Zoe
‘The time I spent in Cameroon was helpful in confirming that
I would like to be involved in literacy work overseas in the future. I have taken part in short term cross-cultural trips in the past but I felt I learnt more about people's daily life and their Christian experience in Cameroon than I have on some other trips.’ Fiona
‘One thing I learnt while I was there was that to teach people about Jesus’ love and show them the great news of Jesus’ death and resurrection, much practical love must be shown. John and Sandra worked tirelessly with the local people; taking them to the hospital, giving them malaria medicines, giving some clean water and letting them charge their mobile phones. It would be hypocritical to talk about translating the Bible and telling people about the love of Jesus and to not show it.’ Lizzie
‘To hear how a pastor had been praying for twenty years for
a translation project to start amongst his people group and how people wept with joy when they first heard the Scripture in their mother tongue really was an eye-opener to the importance of Wycliffe’s work.’ Zoe
“The Team were able to spend two nights staying in the compounds of local believers in various parts of the wider village of Bamunka. In each case they were able to present
a copy of the Lost Son big book (a paraphrase of the parable
of the prodigal son) to the local church on Sunday morning, where it was read in the language. One of our friends said that it made the Bible story so clear that even the old
women could understand it!” Jon Blackwell, Cameroon 07 team’s host
‘We have been greatly blessed by the visit of the Transform Team to Burkina Faso in July 2007. The ladies were eager and dedicated; they functioned well as a team, and were a source of encouragement to many people here.’
Marilyn, Burkina Faso 2007 team’s host
