PhD programme starts in Nairobi
Tuesday, January 3rd marked the long-awaited opening of the PhD programme in Bible translation at NEGST, Nairobi, Kenya.
Nairobi Evangelical Graduate School of Theology (NEGST) previously provided only a masters' degrees in Bible translation and literacy. Wycliffe personnel serve as part of the administration and teaching staff. Students spent the previous four months brushing up on Greek and Hebrew, and filling in undergraduate courses previously missed.
"We should have begun with a celebration, but instead we started with a seminar,"
writes Ronnie Sim, Director of the programme. Ronnie and his wife Margaret who also teaches at NEGST hail from Scotland, UK.
Pray for the students and staff as they
embark on this new learning endeavour.
