Celebration of 25 years of work in India...
More than 60 Word for All (WFA) translators, literacy
workers and survey teams in India celebrated WFA's 25th anniversary January 11-
14 2006. Formerly known as the Indian Institute for Cross Cultural Communication
(IICCC), WFA oversees more then 50 translation and literacy projects in India.
Much work needs to be done to confirm the needs for translation but it is estimated that projects in 150-200 languages still need to be started.
This number of translations would mean hundreds of workers will need to be sent by churches and mission agencies in India.
If you'd like to pray:
- Praise God for all that has been accomplished in the last 25 years.
- Pray the people of India will receive the Gospel message with open hearts, through WFA's work.
- Pray for Word for All as they continue the work and please consider supporting them in their plans to dramatically increase their vision sharing efforts.
- Pray that the Indian Church, which already has a big vision for cross cultural mission within India, will catch the vision for Bible translation and literacy and send as support as they are able, hundreds of workers.
- Pray that the worldwide church will help with finances as necessary especially for training and equipment costs e.g. computers.
