Partnering with a project
God loves every people, every tribe and every nation, but many of these groups still live far from God, cut off from the wonderful promises found in his word.
We invite you, and perhaps your church, to help one of these groups receive God’s message of love in their own language.
The groups vary in size and location: some have no church while among some it’s already growing, some follow major world religions while others hold firmly to traditional beliefs – but all of them need to learn more about Jesus.
That process begins with what God has said in the Bible. God’s word is foundational to effective evangelism, church-planting and discipleship, so while Wycliffe programmes may include literacy and development they always include making Scripture available in the local language.
Wycliffe Bible Translators UK is involved in supporting over thirty different translation projects in Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal and Uganda as well as more sensitive countries in West Africa and South East and West Asia. You could choose a ‘bite-sized’ piece of the task of mission that was given to the worldwide church by Jesus himself.
You can get involved in a number of different ways. You could simply commit to pray for a project. You could pray and give financial support. You could pray, give and form a close relationship with a translation team, writing letters and e-mails and potentially making visits to a specific project.
You would receive regular prayer updates on your project. However you choose to be involved, as your project progresses you will be able to praise God as Scripture becomes available and has impact. You will be encouraged as the Kingdom expands as a result.
