Are you a teacher? You might be just the person we want to hear from! Teachers make a huge difference to all our lives and in our context, they enable Bible translation to happen. In fact, they are an essential cog in the machine.

Here is what one of our members serving with Wycliffe, who lives and works in one of the areas that need teachers, said in her recent newsletter:

‘Teachers are a vital part of mission. They provide education for the children, freeing up parents to serve as translators, doctors, IT staff and in many more roles. One of our biggest needs here in Mbeya at the moment is a teacher for our missionary children. Could you or someone you know, consider supporting the work of Bible translation in this way?’

Currently, we need three more teachers in Tanzania.

The Ravine Learning Centre in Mbeya in southern Tanzania is looking for at least one qualified teacher, although two (or more) would be even better.

The other vacancy is at the Lake Victoria Learning Centre, which is located in Musoma, in northern Tanzania. They are looking for at least one qualified teacher.

The teachers who come to Tanzania to serve in this way, whether short or long term, will have a real impact on Bible translation by enabling parents to serve in their roles as linguists, IT specialists, EthnoArts specialists and more.

If you feel that God is calling you to one of these roles and you are a certified teacher with at least one year of experience, please get in touch.

Pray for this need for teachers:

  • That God will call the right people to teach our teams’ children in Tanzania
  • For the recruitment and transition phase to go quickly and smoothly
  • For the children to respond well and adjust to whoever takes on these roles
