When I visit the ongoing work, I always ask, ‘How can we be of most help to you?’ The answer I hear most often is, ‘Can you send more people?’
James Poole, Executive Director of Wycliffe
The Bible changes lives.
But 1 in 5 people don’t yet have the Bible in the language that speaks to them best.
Do you want to help change that?
We would love to hear from you – contact us here.
People serving with Wycliffe work in multicultural teams with local colleagues and people from all over the world, united in the vision God has given us for everyone to have the Bible in their own languages.
‘I believe the gospel has power when it is preached in local languages. I decided it was time to help speakers of other languages have access to God’s word.’
Gift Asiku, standing behind the children above, serves God in Bible translation in Uganda.
More than ever, Wycliffe partners with local colleagues, but there are still vital roles to be filled.
...the Holy Spirit said, ‘Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.’ Acts 13:2b
People with all sorts of different skills are needed.
Are you a translator or a teacher? Or an accountant or administrator? Perhaps you are a software engineer, a cartographer, a publisher or a project manager? Do you have skills in technology or childcare, HR or Bible impact, or something completely different? These are just some of the many ways you could use your skills to serve those who don’t yet have the Bible in their language. And even if you don’t yet have the skills, but have a heart to serve God, there are opportunities to learn new skills in many areas.
Your work will play a part in God’s mission to the world. You could see:
- More people able to read the Bible and apply it to their lives…
- More people coming to know Jesus…
- Local Christians equipped to serve God...
- Churches growing and flourishing…
- Communities transformed…
The stakes are high.
This work makes a difference for eternity.
