First Steps events help you discover the powerful impact of Bible translation today, whether you’re just interested to know more or you are already keen to get involved.

What should I expect?

We introduce you to the what, why and how of Bible translation: What exactly is it? Why is it so essential? And how is God using translated Scriptures around the world?

Discover the enormous variety of skills and expertise it takes for a people group to gain access to the Bible - you don’t need to be a translation expert to join the team. Discover what happens when people engage with the message of Jesus in their language for the first time!

Take your First Steps and discover the world of Bible translation and how you could be involved in getting the Bible to the 1.5 billion people still waiting.

Other dates and venues – First Steps events are held at regular intervals at locations around the UK. If you'd like to come to a future event please register your interest online.

Evening events tend to start at around 6.30pm for those who’d like to join us for food, with the main programme starting around 7.30pm and finishing at 9.30pm. For the day events, we start at around 10am with coffee and finish at 4.30pm. First Steps events are totally free, but for the day events we’d ask you to arrange your own lunch.
