Everybody should have a Will in place to provide for their loved ones after they are gone and to leave gifts to the causes they care most about. Creating a Will can cost around £150–300 for a simple Will and may cost even more for something more complicated. 

Writing a Will with Octopus Legacy is free and can take as little as 15 minutes. Your Will is comprehensively checked by experts to ensure that all of your wishes are included legally.

While many supporters decide to leave a gift in their Will to Wycliffe, there’s no obligation to do so if you use this service; but if you do, it’ll help us to continue to increase Bible translation work around the world. It can also reduce the inheritance tax your loved ones pay on what you leave for them.

Last year the gifts we received in Wills helped us to: 

  • Start one in eight of our new language projects around the world, leading to a record year for Bible translation at Wycliffe.
  • Provide an estimated 138,000 people with some Scripture in their own language, working towards providing them with the full New Testament.
  • Provide our partners with financial and practical support to increase the pace of Bible translation through the use of new technologies and Scripture engagement programmes.

Amending an existing Will:

If you already have an existing Will but wish to leave a gift to Wycliffe, you can amend your Will at minimal cost. Simply download, print and complete this form and hand it to your solicitor to attach to your Will.

Please note that this may incur a small charge from a solicitor to do this and that we recommend that you seek your solicitor’s advice when using a codicil amendment form.

Traditional Will writing:

We have partnered with a solicitor firm offering a 10% discount to you as a Wycliffe supporter for a paid Will. They will also make a 10% donation to Wycliffe on completion. If you would like details, please get in touch with us.
